No mobile or iPad..

John has asked us NOT to bring any kind of tech with us to rehearsals on Monday as an experiment in to how this effects us... We have already had dancers worried about security of their phone if they leave them in their accommodation / car so he has conceded that they can have them tucked away in bags which isn't quite the same thing as you know you have the security of them being there if you REALLY need them...
It is already flagging up things for me. I am planning in my head the issues that may arise. For example if I need to contact Alice re, accommodation for Effie to advising her what time she will be arriving and the fact that we are going to be out and about on Monday... Ideal photo ops esp as john has asked us to post online about our experience but without my phone I won't be able to take any....
Interesting....

Two days and counting....

Two days until totally immersion.... 10-6pm nocturn dance rehearsals Monday-Friday then two days of performances at South Hill Park on sat & sun.... I will either be elated or dead!
More than ever before I am really worried as to whether I can hack it anymore... After all I am nearly 47! No spring chicken... Even before we start my back is aching and my feet complaining.
Wish me luck and determination. I think I, gonna need it....

Crocuses & Daffodils, it must be Spring!

I don't know whether I just haven't noticed it before but we have Crocuses, Daffodils & Snôw Drops all at the same time. It feels early for daffy but I guess it not. It's Cheltenham Race week this week or next and daffy are always out by then. Getting some lovely sunny, warm days too.

Beautiful walk in The Chase today. The birds were in full song serenading us on our way. Great Tit with its variety of calls, wren, nut hatch, woodpecker, blackbird, mallard (at last we have a resident duck. Hope he stays, must be lonely in his own..) and of course the Robins. Also saw the first butterfly of the year yester. A beautiful Red Admiral.

13 days soberish.....

13 days and only one small whisky & two (well three) glasses of wine... BUT that's not bad considering my post October consumption....
It hasn't been too hard and I've certainly given myself a challenge: taken Lloyd to the Pub twice and went out for a curry with John but  not a drop crossed my lips... friday nights are hardest and sundays..  my saving grace has been Cranberry Juice, thank you Carrie for bring me three cartons of it..... On the plus side ive lost 3 pounds and its certainly cheaper when you go out. Also found Becks Blue acohol free beer, tastes like the real thing its great..... its probably as bad for you thou... hey ho...

Only 18 days to go......

Sober for October

31 days of no alcohol! I'm ashamed to admit it's gonna be really difficult..... I will miss my end of the day friend... A cup of tea just doesn't really cut it but it's gonna have to for a while.. Why am I doing this? For my health and to prove to myself I can... I'm always tired.. Maybe this will help. We shall see but for now it's bottoms up and cheers with my last glass of wine....

The journey starts here...

Little bit worried as I have all my warmest clothes on and I'm a little bit chilly. I'll be Calling Lloyd to bring my scarf and gloves! Also excellent start nearly left my frinton folder at the coffee stand OMG that would fave been BAD! Thank goodness for the kindness of people and the editing time for the train...
